On 9 December 2021, A. Astrowsky, an American attorney and author, invited by Dr Nona Chanturia, the lecturer of the Holocaust History course, gave an online lecture to the course students. The author talked about her book Living Among the Dead, which has been awarded several prizes and is one of the bestsellers in this genre.
The book is about the history of the author’s family, pogroms and extermination of Jews by Nazis. The lecture was exciting and emotional. The students could directly listen to the descendant of the holocaust victim and ask questions after the talk.
At the end of the meeting, the American author thanked the course author for organising the meeting. She also noted the students’ academic level, considering their interesting and complex questions.
