International Lecture on the History of the Holocaust Victims

On December 9, 2021, at the invitation of the “Holocaust History” course author, Dr Nona Chanturia, and the Georgian Society for Holocaust Studies, an online lecture was given to the course students by American prosecutor and author Adena Bernstein Astrowsky. The lecture was about A. Astrowski’s book “Living Among the Dead ”, which has won various prestigious awards and is one of the bestsellers in this genre.
The book concerns the author’s family history during the Holocaust, pogroms, and the extermination of Jews by the Nazis. The lecture was interesting and emotionally charged. The students had the opportunity to listen directly to the story of a descendant of a Holocaust victim and ask her questions after the lecture.
At the end of the meeting, the American author thanked the course author and the Society for organising this meeting. He also highlighted the level of preparation of the students, judging by their interesting and complex questions.
