
On December 23, 2021, at the invitation of Associate Professor Nona Chanturia and the Georgian Society for Holocaust Studies, Michał Bilewicz, Professor of Psychology at the University of Warsaw, gave an online lecture to students of the “Holocaust History” course at Grigol Robakidze University.
The lecture concerned the psychological aspects of the Holocaust. In particular, the psychological aspects of visiting Holocaust memorial sites, raising awareness among visitors, and the political context of Holocaust education are discussed.
After the lecture, a question-and-answer session was held, where the course students asked the speaker interesting questions about the psychology of the Holocaust victims, the psycho-social atmosphere of the ghettos, and the attitude of young people in Europe to the Holocaust.
At the end of the meeting, Michał Bilewicz noted the depth of the students’ questions and the level of preparation. He expressed his desire for further cooperation with the author of the course and the association.
