On October 17, 2019, an official Israeli delegation visited Grigol Robakidze University, led by Amir Peretz, Chairman of the Avoda Parliamentary Party.
Starting from the new academic year, the university will be teaching “Holocaust History,” which is led by Doctor of History Nona Chanturia. Within the framework of this course, the guests delivered a public lecture to the students.
The head of the delegation and former Minister of Defense Amir Peretz spoke with the students about the creation of the State of Israel, the history of the Holocaust, the reforms implemented during his tenure, and Israeli-Palestinian relations.
At the end of the lecture, the guests answered the students’ questions.
The Israeli delegation members toured the university’s educational environment and the famous forensics laboratory, which is one of the best in terms of its equipment.
The Israeli delegation is visiting Georgia at the invitation of the Jewish House and its director, Itsik Moshe, and is participating in events held within the framework of the European Days of Jewish Culture.
